I’m sure most business owners feel like there is not enough time in the day to get all of their work done. Fortunately for all of us, there is technology to save the day! One key method to end the frustration is to streamline their business accounting. While this may seem like an overwhelming task, it can be accomplished in several ways…

Step 1: Hire a virtual accountant to help with the company’s weekly or monthly accounting tasks.

Step 2: Automate low-value tasks such as receipt and expense management and tracking employees’ time. Use top-rated apps such as Expensify and Tsheets to eliminate these time-wasters.

Step 3: Stop manually entering bank and credit card transactions. Activate bank feeds to import these transactions from bank and credit card accounts automatically into your accounting software. Create bank rules to automatically classify and enter recurring expenses and deposits.

Step 4: Create separate accounts for personal and business expenses and never confuse the two.

Step 5: Make a list of tasks you can delegate to another team member or consider outsourcing work to a virtual accountant or other contractor. With the arrival of marketplaces such as Fiverr, there is an unlimited source of talent from which to choose.

Step 6: Use Projects in QuickBooks Online Plus. This feature helps you organize all of your job-related tasks in one place.

Step 7: Manage your to do list by using a productivity app like Trello or Todoist.
