QuickBooks Online has added a cool feature to help you manage all of your business receipts and bills through Receipt Capture. This tool allows you to digitize your receipts or bills, upload them to QuickBooks Online and then match them to the corresponding transactions. Easy peasy!
To use this option, you'll need to register your email with QuickBooks. Go to the Banking menu and then select the Receipts tab. Select Register Your Email to get started. If you see Send Receipts to receipts@quickbooks.com, you've already registered your email.
Now you're ready to go!
1. Attach a picture of the receipt/bill or send it in the body of an email to receipts@quickbooks.com.
2. Once sent, it will take a few minutes for QuickBooks to process the email and upload the document to QuickBooks Online.
3. Check the For Review in the Receipts tab. QuickBooks tries to extract the vendor, date, total from the receipt or bill.
That's it!
All of your uploaded receipts and bills will remain in the For Review section until you are ready to tackle them. Be sure to review and categorize your receipts and bills at least once per week.
You can rest easy knowing that your receipts have been added and safeguarded with QuickBooks.
In next week's blog post, I will show you how to setup and use the Mobile App option for receipts. Stay tuned!
Please leave me a note in the comments if this helped you managed your receipts and bills.
